So last Friday we visited Dr. Lagoc(our pediatrician) anxiously awaiting the results of Aiden's 2nd sleep study, for her to tell us it looks better but that honestly she couldn't tell more than that because she had nothing to compare it to....I was happy that it was better but bummed we couldn't understand more.
That has probably been the most frustrating thing since the first 6 hours of his life with all this stuff, its so new, no one really has answers for you, there is lots of conflicting opinions and you sort of flounder to sort it all out because the option of it going wrong...is well not an option for you as a parent.
Now two sleep studies and a variety of doctors, countless nights of that damn thing going off, never leaving him alone at night for fear that someone else would have to worry about the machine and finally today the pulmonologist Dr. Trevor said "We are free and clear of the monitor"! Wooohoooooooooooooooooooo
Aiden still has some hypopneas (these are hitches in your breath or deep dream sleep and some central apneas) and we have to watch him very close if he develops any snoring or mouth only breathing patterns, but he is healthy happy and gets to sleep tonight with wires around his little baby chest. Now don't get me wrong that machine has allowed me to sleep during the last year and tonight I probably will wake up a 1000 times to check on him, but another milestone passed.
As he has begun ripping the cords out and standing in bed it has been difficult but, now we can just laugh with him instead of being crazed! What a great day

oh good. so glad to hear. i think it's hard enough being a parent of infants- constantly checking to make sure their breathing in their sleep. I can't imagine adding that on top of it. and yes- i am sure the stress and the checking on him will continue- but i am sure that lifted some weight off your shoulders. love you hannah... and love you aiden!
That is such wonderful news! Hope you were able to get some rest! Thinking positive thoughts for all of yoU!!!!
