Coast Camping has now become an annual tradition...we are happy to announce we are invited back for the Ryan family event 4 years running! This year was especially fun, cause the kids could play and make us laugh- the adults (ummm....my husband) has serious fun with some interesting "beverage" games and we had a great time. Already looking forward to next year....so here is a few photos!

The Last Days of Summer
So today is sort of the last days of summer. I finished my week long math training yesterday and now I have Friday, Saturday,Sunday and Monday and then its back to the grind. Aiden starts back to daycare, hopefully with not too many bad habits on Tuesday, and for me its time to get to work. Most of you know I had to move classrooms as well as grade levels- I will be teaching a 5th/6th grade combination classroom and it is going to kick my butt and make me stronger. HOwever, in order for children to arrive the next week I have to make it look like a classroom. Now I am pretty proud of myself this summer, I only went 2 days (1/2 days at that) and worked and did minimal work at home. Of course now I am kicking myself in the butt if I start to think about how much Ididn't do but then I try to remember all the times we just played outside or in the water table, or went to the library or had a popsicle...that is the important stuff. SO here's to another summer on its way out quickly...let the craziness begin!
P.S. - Aiden and Kellin and all the animals are great!

Sample of Summertime Fun
Learning to build high
World Cup is on constantly- so we had to sport the jersey- but diapers only is usually our afternoon attire
Big boy on the balance beam
Summer is finally HERE! So this week, no school stuff... I mean seriously I have done nothing for school, I told Kellin there would 3 weeks of this so I think I am doing great so far. So this week we joined a moms' play group which was cool and tried out the Open Gym for the Gymnastics Place. We already do library on Monday and each afternoon we are trying something together...building with Legos, the water table, coloring with crayons, digging in the garden. It has been awesome. I know this is a summer that I will look back on and cherish for many years to come. We still visit daycare once a week, cause Aiden misses his friends, so we drop in for a visit but pretty much its just the two of us Monday-Friday- GREAT!

We'd Like to take Credit
June 6th
We'd like to think we have a green thumb, but really its probably all this crazy rain and sun and humidity we have been having....whatever it is our gardens are going crazy. The herb garden we decided we were tired of flowers that kept dying behind our big window so over Spring Break Aiden and I planted a little of everything; basil, thyme, fennel, sage, dill, cilantro, parsley, you know the usuals- now CRAZY!
Then the other garden, Kell's bday creation to himself. We started with little baby plants and some even at seed and now we have this....I think its gonna be a yummy summer!

Slide Purchase
So about two months ago I decided from Aiden's slide obsession since I am taking him out of daycare for the next 7 weeks to be with mommy, that in order for him not to hate me (since daycare has 3 slides) I had better find one for our backyard. So I knew I wanted to spend little to nothing and wanted it to be small enough he could fall off/not need me, but not so small that he was bored after a week. It has become like a treasure hunt....searching CraigsList each week or asking people around to keep eyes open for me, just for the right one. Then last week Kellin got involved....all of a sudden it was $299.00 ones he could have till he was 10 and ones that would be shipped to us and inflate! Too much for me. So I convinced him to let me go to one garage sale in a neighborhood by my parents house, we woke up early and first street we went on we saw this little faded LIttly Tikes climber. It was love at first sight (a new one would be faded by the end of summer anyway) Kellin asked, he said $20, I said SOLD! Now our little climber has a beautiful home with a crazy kid who loves already to slide and run for hours and a happy mom who can sit back and afford to buy herself a bottle of wine and toast to her slide treasurer.
